Bloodsphere 7th Birthday

Today Bloodsphere turns seven years old! This is a great achievement for everyone who participated in getting the guild running throughout the years. We've experienced many things together from the vanilla days up to now. The numerous raids on Silverwing Outpost in our teen levels, the infamous 40-man one percent Ragnaros attempt, watching Gun grow from being a nublet to a more experienced noob. The countless events and memories will never be forgotten. Lets continue to make the guild something memorable in the years to come. Congrats everyone!

Patch 4.3 is also now available today. There are many new and exciting elements added to the game. Transmogrification will allow you to bring your old gear looks back in style. The void storage will make hybrids classes so much happier for finally having a place to store their multiple gear sets. Three new dungeons and raid have been added. The race is on to get ahead of everyone in content. Good luck!

Congratulations to Blondee for winning our guild fishing contest! As a reward he gets to cruise through Azeroth in his brand new Mekgineer Chopper! A well deserved reward for raking in a total of 1,878 smelly fish! Thank you all for your efforts and participation in this event. As a result of this event the guild has finally reached its goal in obtaining the That's A Lot of Bait achievement. Congratulations everyone!

Preparing for Patch 4.3
Written by Kyra
Friday, 11 November 2011

Arena and Rated Battleground Season 10 is ending November 29. Given this information it is possible that patch 4.3 will be released soon after. This will probably lead to many inactive players coming back to the game rushing to get first dibs on the latest equipment from the new 5-man dungeons and raids. Because of this, the demand for in-game materials will eventually increase dramatically. There are a couple things you will want to keep in mind before the new content is released. It is a good idea to be prepared now instead of getting the short end of the stick at patch release.

Conquest points are converted to honor points
At the end of Season 10 all conquest points will be converted to honor points. The points will cap at 4,000 honor. Spend your points wisely and keep in mind that Season 10 items will then become available with honor points. Blizzard has already made everyone aware that higher ilvl PvP items will be introduced and available for Honor points with patch 4.3.

Valor points will be converted to justice points
Same as with conquest points, valor points will be converted to justice points and capped at 4,000 points. All remaining points will be converted to gold.

Gem and enhancement item prices will increase
Along with new gear always comes the need for enhancements to those pieces. Expect all gem and enhancement item prices to skyrocket once patch is released. It is in your best interest to stockpile as much as possible of the common enhancements you will be needing. This includes various types of raw gems, leg enhancements, and enchanting materials including heavenly shards.

Play the Auction House
It all comes down to supply and demand. It will be a little difficult to know what materials will be worth the most after patch. The economy will be affected by what other players will be stockpiling and making available for sale at release compared to you. Take a look at the 4.3 patch notes to get an understanding of what is changing with the release of the patch. Doing so will give you an idea on what to look out for on the auction house. Prices will be fairly low until the day patch hits. Grab what you can now while supplies last!

Over the weekend the guild finally reached level 25! Congratulations to everyone and thank you for all your contributions to the guild up to this point. Along with this exceptional achievement comes the availability of Reins of the Golden King and our new Mass Resurrection skill. The new skill will be useful in our raids to recover from the countless wipes caused by our overzealous guild member Gún!

Guild Fishing Competition Starts Now!
Written by Kyra
Wednesday, 19 October 2011

The guild is holding its first ever fishing competition... and it starts NOW! The event is being held to assist in completing our guild fishing achievement That's A Lot of Bait which will provide us the Recipe: Seafood Magnifique Feast guild reward. All guild members must do is catch as many fish possible as long as it is one of the fish listed in the "Catch of the Week" list. The "Catch of the Week" list will be displayed in the guild information tab. In order for you to get credit for your weekly catch, you must mail your fish to Easystar before the next server maintenance. The competition will continue as long as the guild achievement has not yet been completed. Once the achievement has been reached, the fish received up to that point will be added up and whoever has the highest count is our winner. The reward in the end is going to be a surprise. Now get out there and cast those reels!

Al'Akir, a Fart in the Wind
Written by Kyra
Tuesday, 18 October 2011

It's not always about encountering the latest bad boys when it comes down to raids. This time we took a stroll over to The Throne of the Four Winds. It was an entertaining change of pace to our usual raid lineup. Everyone did a great job quickly understanding the fight mechanics and shutting this place down.

Raw footage of The Conclave of Wind and Al'Akir are now available as usual to our guild members. Watch the raw footage.

Who says grey loot is worthless? The guild held its first scavenger hunt event yesterday which turned out to be a great success. The event was led by Tinethed requesting participants to romp across Azoroth in search of grey quality materials. The reward for completing the list?... a shiny new Mekgineer's Chopper! The event was completed within an hour with Sneer as the first to fill his pockets with complete junk. Congratulations Sneer on your new chopper and thanks to everyone for participating. Be on the lookout for upcoming guild challenges.

Season 4 Rating Requirements and Arena Changes
Written by Kyra
Wednesday, 23 April 2008

Quote from: Slorkuz (Source)

While Season 3 is still going strong, we wanted to announce ahead of time the rating requirements that will be present for arena items once Season 4 begins. We also wanted to give everyone a heads up to some changes that will be in an upcoming patch, altering how points are gained and players are matched in the arena system. The patch with these changes is scheduled to release before the start of Season 4.

First though, the rating requirement changes:

When Season 4 begins, Season 3 items will be reduced in personal and team arena rating requirement to:
Shoulders: 1950
Weapon: 1800

The new Season 4 items will have the below personal and team arena rating requirements:
Shoulders: 2200
Weapon: 2050
Head: 1700
Chest: 1600
Legs: 1550
Gloves: none
Off-hand: none

In addition, some of the Season 4 quality items that will be purchasable with honor will also carry a personal and team arena rating requirement:
Boots: 1700
Ring: 1650
Bracers: 1575
Belt: none
Necklace: none
Trinket: none

The Season 2 items, which will move to the honor system when Season 4 begins, will continue to have no rating requirement.

The changes to the rating requirements for these items reflect the nature of the items, their power, and the relative difficulty that should be had when attempting to obtain them. These items are comparable to those found in the newest 25 person raid zone, Sunwell Plateau, and should therefore also feel very challenging to obtain.

To help ensure that the challenge in obtaining these items stays true to those achieving these ratings, we'll also be implementing new rules with an upcoming patch to curb practices that undermine the core concepts of the arena system. These rules are as follows:
If a character’s personal rating is more than 150 points below the team rating, they will earn points based on their personal rating instead of the team rating.

This means that a player cannot join a highly rated team and begin earning points based purely on the pre-established rating of the team before they joined it. They'll need to compete, improve, and gain a personal rating worthy of the points they would receive.
If the average personal rating of the players queuing for a game is more than 150 points below the team’s rating, the team will be queued against an opponent matching or similar to the average personal rating.

This means that players cannot join a highly rated team and immediately face highly rated opponents, easily and quickly bringing their personal rating up. Instead they'll need to again compete, improve, and earn their rating.

We're excited to see these changes implemented, which will continue to emphasize the strong competitive nature of the arenas, and the challenge in obtaining the highest end rewards available for PvP.

Goodbye

Hey guys. I'm really sorry to have to do this but I feel it's time my stay in WoW has finally come to an end. I have way too many responsibilities going on as of late and will have to put an end to my WoW addiction. It's been great getting to know each and every one of you and hope you will all keep in touch. Good times. Later today I will be disbanding the guild. The site and forums will be coming down in a couple days so you can all exchange info till then. It's been a great 3+ years. I wish you all the best of luck in your murloc killings and in your rl endeavors. It's been a blast. =]
